Maximilian R., Head of the Control Engineering Department, joined ROFA AG in 2002 as an apprentice and is now responsible for a 14-member team as Head of the Control Engineering Department. He is not the first in his family to have worked for ROFA AG. A relative encouraged him to apply at the time.
"It really pays to have concrete ideas."
I completed my apprenticeship at ROFA, and at that time the profession was still called “power plant electronics technician”. My interest quickly led me to the technology behind plant construction, and I wanted to learn more than just the craft. That’s why in 2009 I took another training course to become an electrician & automation technician. The timing was perfect! In 2010, ROFA brought the Control Systems division back into the company. I got into it, was seen and promoted by the company, and in 2016 I became department head for control engineering at several stations.
“It never gets boring here.”
There are many responsibilities in my position. I negotiate with suppliers, create calculations for hardware and software components and develop e-concepts for the trades we sell, e.g. our well-known electric monorail systems. I work closely with my team and with the respective project managers. As the next step, I could imagine transferring my expertise in the area of e-concepts to the other companies in our network. That would appeal to me.
"I'm not an isolated case."
With my 16 years with the company, I am not an isolated case. There are many people who have been with us for many years and do not dream of changing employers. This is due to the good working atmosphere and the development opportunities at ROFA AG. If you want to achieve something, you will get the trust and the opportunities to do so. I make sure that the people in my team develop further.
Family isn’t just an empty phrase here.”
“Family atmosphere” – that’s what many companies like to say, but with us it’s also true. Here the superiors always have an open ear, we cultivate a culture of open doors and like one another. We organize barbecues, excursions – and yes, we even take vacations together. Be honest: In how many other companies do you feel like having your colleagues around in your spare time? It’s quite normal here.
